The Burnett Ranch Cabins are located on 7.5 acres, just about 15 minutes from the Wimberley Square. Prickly Pear is a one-room cabin which is well-decorated, clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything you might need for a relaxing weekend in the Texas Hill Country. Perfect for couples, individual travelers, or anyone seeking a little tranquility!

The Space
The cabin is well appointed, offering the conveniences of home and a peaceful escape from the routine. You can sit on the screened patio and watch a variety of birds or deer, while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. After a day of exploring nearby attractions or hanging out on the patio, you can relax inside while cooking a delicious meal and reading by the fireplace.

The Location
There are two cabins on a peaceful, beautiful 7-acre property. The cabins
are generously spaced from each other to ensure privacy and tranquility. The Prickly Pear Cabin is located on the dry river bluff, and the Rosemary Cabin is located towards the center of the property, surrounded by large, beautiful oak trees.

One of the best things about this property is its proximity to other Hill Country attractions. - 15 minutes to the Wimberley Square, Jacob’s Well Natural Area, and the Blue Hole
- 30 minutes to Driftwood, TX (home of the Salt Lick and Duchman Cellars) - 30 minutes to Dripping Springs, TX - 30 minutes to San Marcos, TX
- 45 minutes to New Braunfels and Gruene
- 45 minutes to Canyon Lake
- An hour to Fredericksburg and Austin

Guest Access
The whole property is yours to share with any occupants staying in the other cabin on the property. These are generously spaced from each other to ensure peace and privacy! You are welcome to walk around the property, but please be respectful and considerate to other guests and our neighbors. We have a new family of bees on the property that we maintain. They are 100 yards from the unit and roped off but please mindful of this when walking around the property.

Please treat this cabin with the same love and respect that we put into it to make it our little piece of heaven to share.

Arrive after four o’clock when it is convenient for you with an easy and contactless check-in and out process for our guests.

"My daughter and I spent an enjoyable 3 days at the Prickly Pear Cabin. We wanted secluded and quiet and that’s exactly what we got. We spent lots of time in the early mornings on the screened porch.

Great weekend getaway

"Best ever getaway for my wife and me. Cold and rainy but no matter….. enjoyed the cabin and the welcoming shops/restaurants in Wimberly . Cabin is cozy and extremely comfortable. Plan to come back with another couple with them renting the second cabin on the property. Hostesses were wonderful and responsive. They made sure we had firewood for the cold weekend and a bottle of wine. We will be back!

"My wife and I stayed at the Prickly Pear for 3 nights for our 15 year wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! We had such a wonderful time and the screened-porch at sunset can’t be beat! The cabin was very clean and so cozy. The view from the bluff was incredible but there wasn’t any water while we were there, but we had a great time at Blue Hole which was very close by! We would absolutely love to book here again!

"My husband and I loved our weekend at the prickly pear cabin. It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but it's right on the edge of a cliff looking down on the river. The views were spectacular, especially at sunset. The river was dry, but we had a great time walking along the rocky limestone riverbed and checking out the wonderful, gnarly-looking trees. The cabin itself is cozy and beautiful, and looks recently renovated on the inside. The king-size bed was super comfy. We loved the three (!) porches: one screened in, two out in the open. The property was filled with trees and deer, and we even saw a couple of grey foxes. We will come back here for sure! Keep in mind if you have mobility challenges or are bringing kids: the cliff is STEEP. There's a staircase down to the river, but it's a bit of a steep climb and might be tricky for some people. The cliff dropoff is extremely close to the cabin and has no railing. My husband and I loved this, but I would think twice before bringing a toddler!
