Nothing to do? We’ve found several springtime activities for you and your family! For example, if you are a nature lover, you will find a variety of different parks and nature preserves. When you visit the Texas Hill Country, you can easily take a day trip to explore and discover the area.
Enchanted Rock, Texas Parks and Recreation
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area features over 11 miles of various hiking trails. Climb The Summit Trail to the top of Enchanted Rock and experience the Hill Country from a birds eye view.
About an hour east of Enchanted Rock, you will find Pedernales Falls State Park. When you arrive, the park offers beautiful views of the Pedernales River and an abundance of outdoor activities. For instance, you can spend an afternoon wade fishing or grab a tube and float down the river. You can also hike the Twin Falls Nature Trail to Twin Falls Overlook to see the Pedernales River wind through the hills from a different perspective.
If you’re looking for springtime activities on the lake, Canyon Lake is only a short drive from Wimberley and offers a variety of different water activities, such as boating, kayaking, wakeboarding, paddle-boarding and even parasailing!
Hill Country Festivities
For those who appreciate the finer things, the annual Fredericksburg Cheese and Wine Festival will be held in Bankersmith, Texas on March 13th. Grab some friends and enjoy a nice day of fine wines and fun! Alternatively, for the night owls, you can enjoy a night of live music at the Whitewater Amphitheater where Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson will perform their Country Cadillac Tour, March 18th & 19th. The event is 21+ and tickets will be sold by the table. Social distancing will be observed.
In addition, there are many other festivals, craft fairs and market events happening around the Hill Country. Don’t miss it!
